SwiftSettle — Mobile-First Dashboard Redesign
Transforming file management from desktop-centric to mobile-optimized for real estate professionals working across multiple locations.
Overview
When real estate professionals work from properties, cars, and closings, mobile can’t be an afterthought. SwiftSettle functioned on mobile browsers but wasn’t designed for them — agents resorted to pinch-zooming through critical workflows while standing at properties and closings.
This work was completed at RamQuest. The designs were production-ready but not launched due to the company’s acquisition in February 2025. SwiftSettle serves as the product name for confidentiality.
The Problem: Built for Desks, Failing in the Field
The desktop interface had minimal visual hierarchy with no clear status indicators, making it difficult to quickly understand transaction status. On mobile, the desktop interface was simply cramped into a mobile viewport — agents needed pinch-zooming and horizontal scrolling, property addresses were unreadable, and touch optimization was nonexistent.
Process
- Research & Analysis — Analyzed user interviews and performed competitive analysis of mobile solutions in real estate
- Mobile-First Design — Started with 375px viewport, collaborating with the product owner to determine essential columns for mobile
- Progressive Enhancement — Scaled up to tablet and desktop, adding density without sacrificing mobile clarity
- Validate & Refine — Tested with stakeholders, refined toggle system, and polished interactions
The Solution
- Dashboard with Metrics — Instant workload visibility with summary metrics, touch-optimized interface with clear visual hierarchy and one-thumb navigation
- Card View with Toggle — User-controlled density between professional grid view and visual cards
- Design Philosophy — Every element designed for real-world use: large tap targets, glanceable status indicators, and platform-appropriate navigation
Key Insight
Starting with mobile constraints forced clarity and hierarchy that improved the experience across all devices.
